Born in Nameoki, Illinois, to Richard and Crystal Cameron, Thelma spent her early childhood with family friends Clarence and Virginia Allen before navigating various homes during her school years. Her path led her to marry Vaughn Cooper in 1958, building a family amid her dedicated pursuits. Later, on December 30, 1995, she wed Robert 'Bob' Holtman, embarking on nearly three decades of shared adventures, from Alaskan and Hawaiian ocean voyages to a memorable European river cruise alongside friends. Renowned for her talents in cooking, sewing, and gardening, Thelma embodied kindness and gentleness, delighting others with her signature gifts of quilts, sock monkeys, holiday chocolates, homemade applesauce, and festive treats.
Thelma devoted years to hospital work across Evansville, Bloomington, and Indianapolis, showcasing her nurturing spirit. In Bloomington, she independently ran a childcare center for fifteen years, providing care and stability to many young lives. She capped her professional journey by retiring as Manager of Building Five at Justus Company's Crestwood West Apartment complex in Indianapolis on December 30, 1995.
