His passions extended to the animal world, particularly Tennessee Walking Horses and Dalmatian dogs, which filled his days with delight from boyhood onward. At just 12 years old, Steve launched A-1 Awards, transforming a modest collection of trophies and ribbons into a prominent national enterprise that endures today. A Warren Central High School alumnus with auctioneer credentials, he rose as a celebrated speaker and writer in the awards sector, establishing the Recognition Roundtable to nurture enduring bonds. His accolades included induction into the Awards and Personalization Association's Hall of Fame and an honorary Kentucky Colonel commission. Locally, he led the Kiwanis Club of Warren Township as president, spearheading community fundraisers that bolstered east-side Indianapolis initiatives.
