Life & Legacy

Stephen E. Hardman crafted a life of relentless drive, masterful craftsmanship, and a passion for the open road, leaving behind a trail of admired skills and cherished adventures that defined his 46 years.

Born in Indianapolis to LeeRoy and Billie Hardman, Steve navigated the west side streets of his hometown with a spirit of determination from an early age. A proud graduate of Ben Davis High School's class of 1997, he channeled his energy into pursuits that blended hands-on expertise with an unyielding work ethic. Beyond the demands of his trade, Steve found joy in the thrill of motorcycle rides, the quiet focus of fishing, and the satisfaction of outdoor projects. His travels took him to the serene landscapes of Michigan and the majestic peaks of Tennessee's Smoky Mountains, where he savored moments of escape and renewal.

Steve honed his talents in the HVAC field, earning a reputation as the most dedicated worker in any crew. His expertise shone through his role at Ferrar Mechanical Services, and he took his ambition further by launching Hardman Heating and Cooling LLC, building a legacy of reliable service and technical prowess that benefited clients and colleagues alike.

Family & Loved Ones

Steve's world revolved around the unbreakable ties he nurtured with siblings Shad, Samuel, and Lisa, sharing a lifetime of support as the youngest of four. Though his beloved wife Vicki departed just a year prior, and son Zachary earlier still, he poured his heart into raising sons Sebastian and Donald Jr., both now in Indianapolis, while doting on a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and kin with his steady, dependable nature.

Remembered by Friends & Family

Tributes from acquaintances paint Steve as the epitome of grit and generosity, with recurring nods to his unmatched hustle on the job and the easy camaraderie he brought to every outing.
