Born in South Bend, Indiana, to Joseph and Bonnie Koczan, Sandy grew up embracing the world with enthusiasm. A proud 1986 graduate of Hamilton South East High School in Noblesville, she filled her days with delights like Winnie the Pooh tales, snapping photos, Disney magic, cheering for Notre Dame's Fighting Irish, and rooting for the Indianapolis Colts. Her kitchen was a hub of warmth, where she whipped up beloved peanut blossom cookies and other treats to share with loved ones.
Sandy built a solid foundation in accounting, excelling at firms like Golden Rule and Management 2000. In 2007, she shifted her focus entirely to caring for her father Joseph, pouring her skills and compassion into full-time support that exemplified her commitment to family above all.

She treasured connections with her aunt Mona and uncle Samuel DeSimone, cousins April, Todd Pontius and their son Austin, plus Dawn, Kent Craig and son Dylan, as well as a lively group of nieces and nephews including Briana, Rachael, Sarah, Michelle, Christopher II, Alyssa, and many more. Known for her tender generosity, Sandy expressed profound love for her parents and this vast network, always ready to cook, listen, or lend a comforting presence.
