His world revolved around creating joyful moments—whether through beach getaways, a memorable Notre Dame football trip with his wife in 2023, or everyday fun like grilling meats, tending to his five cats, and cheering on his favorite teams. Ryan's enthusiasm for wrestling, video games, and family outings to Dave & Buster's highlighted his playful spirit, always prioritizing the happiness of his loved ones above all.

Married to his loving wife Jane for over 19 years, he delighted in building Lego sets with his sons Jacob and Lucas, matching T-shirts with his daughter Allison, and planning vacations that strengthened their bonds. Survived by his parents Mark and Jeanne McFarland, sister Lindsey Gullett, and a close-knit circle, Ryan was preceded in passing by his grandparents Marion & Phyllis McFarland, Wayne & Ruth Emerson, and uncle Tim McFarland.
