Life & Legacy
Ronald 'Ron' Jones crafted a life rich with dedication, creativity, and unwavering family bonds, leaving an indelible mark on his community through skillful craftsmanship and heartfelt connections.
Born in 1954 to Willard and Elizabeth Jones, Ron grew up embracing a world of curiosity and hands-on pursuits. A 1972 graduate of T.C. Howe High School, he channeled his energy into diverse passions, from mastering ham radio operations to perfecting knife-making and 3D printing. His knack for diving deep into new interests—beekeeping, woodworking, pen turning, magic tricks, and reselling—reflected a relentless drive to excel. An avid collector, especially of CASE knives, Ron also cheered passionately for IU basketball, often sharing courtside excitement with his close cousin Tony Frost. As a devoted member of Lifeway Church, he contributed in numerous roles, blending faith with his vibrant hobbies and love for sports.
Ron dedicated 45 years to the electrical industry, culminating in his retirement from Ermco Electric as an account manager. His induction into the Ermco Hall of Fame in 2022 honored his pivotal role in landmark projects, including the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Lucas Oil Stadium, alongside countless other Indianapolis structures. Notably, he collaborated on two assignments with his son Brett, though he chose fatherhood over supervision.
