Robin 'Rob' William Roberts crafted a vibrant life marked by brotherly adventures, professional dedication, and a passion for creative pursuits, leaving an indelible mark on family and friends through his spirited enthusiasm.
Born in Casper, Wyoming, as the youngest of six sons to a respected family physician and his devoted wife, Rob grew up immersed in the lively chaos of a tight-knit sibling band spanning just a decade. His early years brimmed with the playful escapades typical of a boy trailing five older brothers, fostering a sense of camaraderie that defined his outlook. After earning a business administration degree from the University of New Mexico in 1976, he built a fulfilling path blending career achievements with hands-on hobbies like golf, artistic painting, intricate model assembly, and curating a collection of classic cars that reflected his eye for detail and love of the road.
Rob capped a distinguished tenure at Archer Daniels Midland Company in Decatur, Illinois, retiring in 2010 as Director of State Tax, where his expertise shaped fiscal strategies for the organization over many productive years.
Family & Loved Ones
Central to Rob's world were the enduring ties to his brothers and extended kin, bonds forged in Wyoming's wide-open spaces and sustained through decades of shared history. He leaves behind daughter Erin Roberts; step-daughter Megan VanHorn with her husband Dylan and their son Elwood; brother Jon Roberts and his wife Paula; sisters-in-law Carol, Lynda, and Debbie; plus a host of nieces and nephews who cherished his affable spirit. Earlier losses included his parents, cherished son Samuel, and brothers Ken, Judd, Steve, and Pete—reminders of a family woven tightly by resilience and affection.
