Life & Legacy

Roberta 'Bobbi' Anne Haldane crafted a vibrant tapestry of adventure, family devotion, and creative pursuits, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed her path through her infectious enthusiasm for life's simple joys.

Born in Marblehead, Massachusetts, to Elizabeth and Robert Wade, Bobbi embarked on a journey defined by education, romance, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear. A proud alumna of Danvers High School's class of 1954 and Katharine Gibbs Executive Secretarial School in 1956, she honed skills that launched her into Boston's bustling professional scene. There, in 1957, she encountered William Haldane, the partner who would become her lifelong companion. Their union in September 1963 followed his Army National Guard service, ushering in decades of shared dreams. Bobbi embraced full-time motherhood with the arrival of daughter Diane, followed by son David, before reentering the workforce in 1975. Retirement in 2010 from Johnson Matthey—after years at Morton International—opened chapters of global exploration with Bill, later shifting to cherishing time with grandchildren. A passionate photographer, avid recipe experimenter, and connector through greeting cards, Bobbi radiated pride in her family's achievements. After Bill's passing from cancer in 2015, she found solace in Westfield, Indiana, alongside David for her final decade.

Bobbi's professional path blended secretarial expertise with steadfast dedication, starting in Boston post-graduation from Katharine Gibbs. She paused her career to raise her children, resuming in 1975 at Morton International, which evolved into Johnson Matthey. There, she contributed reliably until her 2010 retirement, balancing work with her growing family's needs.

Family & Loved Ones

Bobbi wove her days around the unbreakable threads of kinship, pouring energy into nurturing her daughter Diane and husband Chris Perkins, along with son David, while beaming over grandchildren Stephanie and Sean. Her home buzzed with the warmth of shared meals from her endless recipe trials, snapshots capturing fleeting family moments, and a steady stream of heartfelt cards that kept connections alive across distances. Even after Bill's death in 2015, she anchored herself in David's care in Westfield, her gentle storytelling keeping his memory vibrant amid everyday joys.
