Born in Champaign, Illinois, to Herman and Ruth (Forshey) Fiscus, Rick embraced a world of rhythm and nature from his earliest days. His journey wove together passions for music and turf mastery, punctuated by years of service in the Illinois National Guard. Over decades, he nurtured landscapes and strummed guitar strings with equal fervor, building a reputation for precision and creativity amid life's greens and stages.
Rick devoted much of his professional life to shaping pristine golf courses as a superintendent at Woodland Country Club in Carmel, the Golf Club of Indiana in Zionsville, and Westchase Golf Club in Brownsburg. His expertise ensured flawless playing fields for countless enthusiasts. Complementing this, he shone as a guitarist in various bands, sharing his musical talent across stages throughout his years.
Family & Loved Ones
Rick's world revolved around the enduring partnership he forged with Monika (Milojicic) starting October 6, 1984, a union that spanned 41 fulfilling years. He took immense pride in his daughter Audrey (Steven) Martarano of Naples, Florida, stepson Erik Meyer, and grandchildren Alexis Trubiano and Anthony Martarano, often channeling his steady, nurturing spirit into their lives. Bonds with his sister Carolyn (Jim) Bergman of Bakersfield, California, and brother Ed (Sandra) Fiscus of St. Joseph, Illinois, added layers of warmth and shared history to his days.
