A graduate of Southport High School, he pursued higher education at Purdue University, earning a bachelor's degree that launched him into a world of lighting design and retail. Even in retirement, his enthusiasm never waned, as he continued sharing knowledge at Sullivan Hardware. Rich's days were filled with pursuits that sparked joy—swinging clubs on the golf course, exploring new destinations, staging theatre productions, and immersing himself in music. His faith anchored him as an engaged member of his local church, while his dedication to fraternal organizations like the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Englewood Masonic Lodge #715, and Murat Shriners Club highlighted his commitment to community and brotherhood.
Rich built a fulfilling path in retail and commercial lighting design, where his expertise illuminated spaces and inspired colleagues. Post-retirement, he generously volunteered his skills at Sullivan Hardware, mentoring others and fostering a culture of hands-on learning and innovation.
