Life & Legacy
Rayford B. Britton forged a remarkable path from a sea captain's son on Providence Island, Colombia, to a visionary entrepreneur whose global ventures embodied resilience, faith, and an unyielding zest for connection.
Born into a seafaring family on December 6, 1933, Rayford embraced the values of perseverance and diligence instilled by his father, a prosperous captain. Educated in MedellÃn, Colombia, he met his future wife, Rebeca, and soon after their union, the couple ventured to the United States with modest means—just ten dollars—to chase dreams of advanced learning and career growth. Their shared adventures spanned multiple American states, Spain, and returns to Colombia, cultivating Rayford's broad worldview and passion for exploration. A devoted follower of God, he frequently attributed his achievements to divine favor, humbly declaring himself blessed rather than extraordinary.
At around age 50, Rayford launched Plastiexports, a thriving international corporation based in Mexico that he guided for more than three decades. Earning a master's in finance in a second language underscored his ingenuity and drive. Despite his successes, he remained grounded, greeting everyone—from business associates to hotel staff—with authentic kindness and curiosity.
