Life & Legacy

Peter J. Kiefel crafted a vibrant life filled with music, family adventures, and unwavering dedication, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to share in his passions.

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Peter embraced a world of creativity and connection from his earliest days. A natural performer at heart, he picked up the guitar in high school and never set it down, weaving songs that echoed through jam sessions and milestone celebrations alike. His enthusiasm for the outdoors drew him to scenic escapes like Wilson's Promontory and Lake Michigan, where he savored sunsets, birdwatching, and the thrill of sports such as tennis and lacrosse. An ardent fan of Australian Rules Football—cheering for Collingwood—and later the Colts in America, Peter turned game days into communal joys. His faith found a home at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, where baptisms and the Comfort Dog Ministry stirred his spirit. Even his bond with family pet Cordelia, the pitbull who won him over despite initial doubts, highlighted his open-hearted nature.

Peter's professional path showcased remarkable adaptability and commitment. After completing high school and earning a Diploma in Drafting, he honed his skills as a draftsman for over a decade. In a bold shift, he pursued computer science studies, securing a Graduate Diploma from Monash University and later an MBA. This launched him into IT roles at Shell Australia, Australia Post, and Anthem in the USA, where he provided steadfast support for his family until his final days.
