His kind-hearted nature shone through in everyday acts of consideration for others, while his passion for staying engaged with younger generations kept him vibrant and connected. From cheering at sports events to supporting theater performances, Paul embraced the joys of family activities with enthusiasm, turning ordinary moments into cherished experiences.
Paul devoted his professional life to plumbing with Local 440, mastering his trade over decades of hands-on work. He extended his expertise as a certified instructor in the apprenticeship program and UA welding program, mentoring newcomers and helping shape the next generation of skilled tradespeople in the community.

Paul's world revolved around the enduring partnership he nurtured with Barbara since their 1969 marriage, a union that spanned 56 years of shared adventures and quiet joys. He poured energy into his children, Michelle Fitzpatrick and Dan Hurley (Robin), delighting in the achievements of grandchildren Tabitha Runion and Casey Hurley, and beaming with pride over great-grandchildren Natalee Darzentas and Margot Crain. His close ties extended to sister Sandra Hotopp, brother Jim Hurley, sister-in-law Wanda Hurley, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, longtime friends, and neighbors, all enriched by his steady support and gentle humor. Preceding him were parents James and Katherine Hurley, brothers Richard and Michael Hurley, sister Catherine Gordon, sisters-in-law Connie and Kay Hurley, and nephews Tim Hotopp, Tony Hotopp, and Phil Hurley.
