Life & Legacy
Pamela 'Pam' Sue Young crafted a vibrant life defined by unwavering faith, creative spirit, and boundless compassion, leaving an indelible mark on her community through decades of teaching, storytelling, and service.
Born in Noblesville, Indiana, to James O. and Marjorie Cross, Pam grew up embracing her lifelong loyalty as a Miller, graduating from Noblesville High School in 1975. She pursued higher education at Ball State University, securing a bachelor's in speech pathology and a master's in education. Her adventures spanned the globe, from family road trips filled with her original stories to a recent journey through Ireland with her daughter and a 20-day exploration of New Zealand alongside her sisters just days before her passing. A devoted reader of the Bible, she shared its wisdom aloud with her cherished puppy, Cooper, while her passion for theater flourished at the Belfry Theater, where she acted, produced, and curated productions. At Eastside Faith Baptist Church, she established a service group that brought gifts and encouragement to elderly members and shut-ins.
For more than four decades, Pam poured her heart into special education at Greenwood High School, where her innovative methods and empathetic approach inspired generations of students, fostering growth and confidence in ways that extended far beyond the classroom.
