Raised amid the vibrant communities of Hopkins, Minnesota, and Overland Park, Kansas, Marty blossomed into a woman of remarkable warmth and curiosity. Her guiding principle, 'Be Kind,' shaped every interaction, drawing people to her like moths to a flame. A natural connector, she thrived in social circles, effortlessly forging bonds that lasted a lifetime. Music filled her days as she played in a recorder ensemble, while active pursuits like volleyball and softball kept her energized alongside her husband. Evenings often revolved around cheering for her cherished Kansas Jayhawks, blending her passions into a tapestry of fulfillment.
Marty's academic prowess shone brightly at the University of Kansas, where she secured three degrees, culminating in a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Her expertise propelled a distinguished career as a research scientist across three pharmaceutical firms, concluding at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. There, she played a pivotal role in developing and launching five innovative drugs, contributions that advanced healthcare and reflected her dedication to scientific progress.
Family & Loved Ones
Marty discovered profound joy in her 1996 marriage to David Kosednar, a union she ranked among her life's greatest treasures, though he preceded her along with her parents, Stan and Katie Kral. She shared close ties with brothers David (Mayi) and Daniel (Cindy), along with cherished nephews Christopher, Nicolas, John, and Stephen, and nieces Catharine, Jessica, Kari, and Sarah—relationships enriched by her gentle humor and readiness to nurture those she held dear.
