Born in Noblesville, Indiana, Lee Roy Parrott nurtured an early passion for military life, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at just 17. His global deployments culminated at Quantico, Virginia, where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. In the Vietnam War, his exceptional valor earned him the prestigious Navy Cross from the President. Infusing every endeavor with the discipline honed over nearly three decades of service, Lee excelled in civilian pursuits, forging enduring bonds through his sharp acumen, steadfast reliability, and innate leadership. A fervent enthusiast of athletics and classic Western films, he relished Steelers Sundays, golf outings nationwide—often quipping about putting prowess—and cross-country road trips in a trusty red wagon. His zest for existence shone through in every pursuit.

Lee's post-military journey showcased his talent for rapid advancement and team inspiration. Beginning as a sales associate at Peerless Cleaners, he swiftly rose to General Manager. He then served as a Corrections Officer at the District of Columbia Youth Center in Lorton, Virginia, earning praise for his collaborative spirit and dependability. Later, at Copperweld Steel Mill, he progressed from operator to Superintendent before retiring, his trajectory a reflection of tireless effort, keen intellect, and resolute determination that garnered lifelong respect and trusted alliances.

Cherished moments with loved ones defined Lee Roy Parrott's essence, from nurturing his four children—Michael Parrott, Lynne Flournoy, Jennifer Jones, and Pamela Jones—with Carol Smith, to embracing two stepdaughters, Karla Williams (deceased) and Daphne Workman, alongside his later wife Donna Workman (deceased). His warmth enveloped 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren, while siblings Esther Strong, Stephanie Rent, Bronson Lightford (Ernestine), Robert Lightford (Glenda), and W. Keith Parrott (Sonya), plus numerous nieces and nephews, shared in his generous spirit. Predeceased by parents Howard Walden and Margaret E. Parrott, grandparents, daughter Karla, wife Donna, and sisters Frances Caruthers, Barbara Tevis, and Betty Bowlds, Lee's home was a haven of enduring connection and joyful support.
