Jake poured his energy into nurturing the connections that mattered most, from his 22-year union with Theresa Whyde—marked by deep affection until her passing in 2017—to the everyday adventures with his sons Kurtis (Sandy) and Dale (Kristen), stepsons Archie, Jay, and Richard Ward, and a sprawling circle of grandchildren like Angel, Zavier, Jackson, and Rosalee, plus many more through his stepsons. His brother Kennan (Cathy) Jacobs and sister Lisa (Greg) Ruddell rounded out the close-knit group he held dear, often sharing laughs amid the chaos of family life. Preceded by his parents Cecil and Mary, brothers Kevin and Keith, and stepson Steven Ward, Jake's home was a hub of warmth where his playful humor shone brightest.
