Judith poured her energy into teaching at the Indiana School for the Deaf, where she inspired students to thrive. She advanced the field through active participation in the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and the Indiana Chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (ICRID). Notably, she helped establish the American Sign Language interpreting program at Vincennes University, mentoring future professionals. Beyond education, her advocacy for HIV/AIDS-affected individuals via the HIV/AIDS Coalition highlighted her tireless fight for equity, complemented by her role as an ordained minister at The Church Within, where she provided comfort and wisdom.

She shared a profound bond with her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Carson, and took great joy in her nephews—Darrell (Coriann) with their children Drew (Dani) and Paige; Robert (Ammie) and daughter Grace; and Kenneth (Sandy) with son Cameron—as well as great grandnieces Willow and Oakley, daughters of Drew and Dani, whose youthful energy mirrored the joyful spirit she so cherished.
