Born in Indianapolis to Harold Babbs and Vivian (Minix) Bratton, Jeff grew up in the heart of Indiana, shaping a spirit that blended playful mischief with profound generosity. A graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School, he dove into the workforce with enthusiasm, building a fulfilling path marked by skill and dedication. Beyond his professional world, Jeff found delight in strategic chess matches, intricate model train setups, and the occasional lighthearted prank that brought smiles to those around him. His true passion shone brightest in the company of loved ones, where his youthful heart created enduring bonds.
Jeff dedicated 45 years to Ford Automotive, rising to the role of millwright through his expertise in machinery and unwavering reliability. His long tenure reflected a craftsman's pride and a team player's commitment, contributing steadily to the industry's backbone in Indianapolis.

Cherished moments unfolded with children Mari Deborah Aponte (John Radez), Dawn Fowler (Scott), and Melissa Lee-Parrish (Kevin Lee); brother David Bratton (Christine); grandchildren Dustin Aponte (Rebecca), Matthew Parrish (Adrienne), Ashley Sutton (Jimmy), Nicole Fowler, Michael Parrish, Mitchell Parrish (Kristen), and Mary Jessica Parrish; plus great-grandchildren Eleni, Eleanor, Benjamin, Lyric, Simon, Finn, and William. Though he mourned the loss of son Jeffrey Scott Babbs, Jeff poured his boundless energy into nurturing these relationships, turning everyday gatherings into treasures of laughter and support.
