Born into a bustling, affectionate family in Gary, Indiana, as the second youngest of seven Wysinger siblings, Jackie thrived in an environment rich with love and activity. She honed her bright mind and sociable nature through her years at Roosevelt High School, from which she graduated in 1971. Throughout her journey, Jackie embraced her roles with enthusiasm, from municipal service to trailblazing in local media, always infusing her days with a zest that drew people close. Her passion for connection shone through her involvement in social circles like the Circle City Gary Club, where her lively presence made her a cherished fixture.

Jackie's professional path showcased her versatility and pioneering spirit. She contributed her organizational skills in the City of Gary's clerk's department before joining the innovative team that launched the area's first cable company during the 1980s—a milestone she held dear. Capping her career, she dedicated years to the financial aid department at IUPUI, retiring in 2016 after making a meaningful difference in students' lives.

Jackie's world revolved around the profound connections she nurtured, starting with her four children—Reginald (Treniese), Jamaal (Taccara Jones), Christopher, and Ashley—from her first marriage, whom she regarded as her greatest source of delight. In 1994, she found her soulmate in Duane Raymond Mathews, marrying him in 2003 and sharing a devoted partnership filled with unwavering affection. Her family expanded to include seven grandchildren—Jamaal Jr., Reginald 'Trey' III, Jaida Jones, Regan, Justyce, Jaurnee, and Ja'Kari—and two great-grandchildren, Rio Pernell and Kn'ylana Haney-Kirklen, along with her daughter-in-love Dionne Williams. Surrounded by surviving siblings Gloria 'Too Sweet' Andrews, Joseph W. (Nancy) Wysinger III, Roxie Diann Owens, Janet Roberts, and Sandra Sandifer, plus countless nieces, nephews, and friends, Jackie created a tapestry of warmth known for her playful spirit and generous heart.
