Afterward, she embraced a part-time role as a receptionist at Little Sisters of the Poor, where her welcoming demeanor supported the community's elders. Her professional journey showcased reliability and a knack for nurturing professional environments.

She shared a lasting partnership with her husband, David R. Smith, and took immense pride in her daughter Mila Walker.
