Born in Lebanon, Indiana, as the youngest of three siblings, Dale grew up in the close-knit community of Sheridan. He built a life centered on family, marrying his beloved Crystal in 1990 and raising two sons who brought him immense pride. Known for his gentle spirit and unwavering commitment to those he cherished, Dale found his greatest fulfillment in nurturing relationships and creating lasting memories with his expanding family.

- Dale shared 35 years of marriage with Crystal, his partner in life's adventures. He was a proud father to Michael (Miranda) and Tyler (Chelsea), and his heart overflowed with joy for his grandchildren: Ella, Grayson, Nevaeh, Jaxon, Liam, and Elias. He remained close to his mother Vonda (Lowell) Shelburne, sisters Debbie (Bob) Holmes and Cindy (Dave) Overholt, and extended family including nieces and nephews Ryan, Brianne, and Chris. Preceded by his father Robert and grandson Elijah, Dale's home was filled with the sounds of family gatherings. In his free time, he relished yard work, football games as both player and spectator, and above all, quality moments with his grandchildren.
