Colleen Isabel Watson embodied enduring kindness, resilience, and a vibrant love for life that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her, leaving behind a tapestry of warmth, humor, and unwavering strength.

Born as the sole child of Isabel German-Simpson and Wallace Simpson in Detroit, Michigan, Colleen entered the world ready to embrace its joys. She honed her intellect and spirit at Shortridge High School, graduating in 1946 amid the post-war optimism. Two years later, on August 6, 1948, she united her life with Robert W. Watson, a World War II Navy veteran, forging a partnership that blossomed into 50 cherished years by 1998. Through triumphs and trials, Colleen's graceful approach to challenges, paired with her sparkling wit, inspired those around her. Her passion for animals shone brightly in the companionship of her beloved cats, reflecting a tender heart that extended to all living creatures.

While specific professional pursuits are not detailed, Colleen's profound impact as a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and doting grandmother wove her true vocation—one of fostering deep connections and spreading joy within her family and community.

Family & Loved Ones

Cherished moments with her children Cindy Marsh (Randy), Susan Carter, and Rob Watson filled Colleen's days with purpose, alongside the delight of her five grandsons—Nick Marsh, Austin Marsh, Kyle Carter, Cody Carter, and Connor Carter—who knew her gentle guidance and radiant smile. Though she mourned the early loss of her daughter Cheryl Ann in October 1961 and her husband Robert in September 1998, Colleen's resilient spirit turned family bonds into a source of endless strength, her generosity and infectious laughter creating a haven of support and shared stories.
