A committed servant of his faith, he actively participated in his church community, rising to the role of Elder at Fishers Community Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where he inspired others with his dedication.

- Family was the heart of Chris's world, with special bonds to his wife Carrie and son Cody, whom he supported tirelessly through sports and school milestones. He also cherished his stepchildren—Isaac, Jacob, Christian, Nicholas Couch, and Amanda Flohr—along with grandchildren Ethan, Riley, and Millie. His sister Megan (Steven) Cross Childers, her daughters Alcey and Audrey, and nephews Seth (Jessa) Henson and Daniel (Rovelyn) Henson with their children Olive, Kaitlyn, Lilly, Hannah, and Hadassa completed his close-knit circle. Preceded by parents Thomas Earl Cross and Helen (Howell) Cross, and sister Cheryl 'Cheri' Cross Henson (Danny), Chris's home was filled with unwavering love and presence.
