Life & Legacy
Born in Vincennes, Indiana, as the second youngest of eleven children to Christopher and Anne Tromley, Carolyn grew up immersed in a large, loving family. Her early years were filled with caring for nieces and nephews, honing the gentle, maternal instincts that defined her. She met David L. Schultz through shared friends, and their union on January 28, 1967, marked the start of an adventurous life together. The couple ventured to Anchorage, Alaska, during David's Air Force service before settling back in Indiana to raise their family. Carolyn pursued her associate's degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1997, channeling her meticulous nature into a fulfilling career. Her hobbies reflected her creative and relaxed spirit—cross-stitching personalized treasures, tackling puzzles alongside David, and diving into daily crosswords. An athletic youth fueled her enthusiasm for wiffle ball games with grandkids, while her kitchen became a haven of homemade delights like cinnamon rolls, fried chicken, and pancake breakfasts that created lasting memories.
