Born in Hartford City, Indiana, as the second oldest of four sisters, Ardith Louise Emshwiller's early years took a turn when her family relocated to Lebanon, where she completed high school. Her journey unfolded with a deep-rooted commitment to her beliefs, nurturing relationships, and acts of kindness that defined her days. She and Claude DeBoard united in marriage on July 11, 1959, embarking on a shared adventure that spanned more than 66 years, marked by mutual support and shared adventures. In 1963, the couple settled in Indianapolis, immersing themselves in the life of Indianapolis First Church of the Nazarene. There, they forged lasting bonds while extending compassion to hospital patients, nursing home residents, and homebound individuals, often organizing delightful day outings for the church's senior members. Ardith's world revolved around her reverence for God, her profound affection for Claude, and her boundless care for family, all infused with a radiant joy that mirrored her spiritual convictions.
Ardith launched her professional path as a key punch operator at Stewart Warner before transitioning to a book distribution firm in Indianapolis. Over three decades, her dedication propelled her to a management role, where she thrived until retirement, demonstrating reliability and leadership in her daily work.
